GOD OF TIME AND SPACE

11/27/2008 Posted by mindsinger

You spread the stars across the sky,
and yet you came for man to die.
How can we grasp a truth so deep,
a mind so high, a love so true?
That in control of worlds and time and space,
there is a God so full of love and grace;
that He sees each child as His little lamb,
and holds us all within His hand.

You hold the worlds together with your love,
and make them sing, and make them sing!
You hold the universe in the palm of your hand,
and make it sing, and make it sing!

You took the nothingness of space and gave it form,
and in that space a world was born.
Then upon that world so very long ago,
you placed a man. You placed a man!

You hold the stars in Heaven with your love
and make them sing, and make them sing!
You hold the universe in the palm of your hand,
and make it sing, and make it sing!

Then what have we to fear in this universe of space?
For you are there, yes you are there!
And you hold us together with your love,
and make us sing, and make us sing!

A Gift of Thanksgiving

A group of little children were sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to him teach. There was a great crowd of people, but there was always room for the children to be near the Master. They heard Andrew, one of the disciples as he said to Jesus. “Master, the people are hungry. Let’s send them into town so they can buy food.”

But Jesus said, “You feed them. Andrew looked surprised and began talking about not having any food or the money to feed such a huge crowd of people.

While they talked, Philip went to Andrew and tugged at his robe. “I’ll share my bread and fishes. Mama fixed them for me.” He held up his little basket.

Andrew turned to Jesus, “Master, this little fellow has offered his lunch. But what good can that do for so many?”

Jesus and Philip answered with a song…

PUT IT IN MY HANDS

JESUS: Put it in my hands with the faith of a child.

Put it in my hands, trusting all the while.

Put it in my hands and you will see it grow;

become a blessing to us all, to body and to soul.

PHILIP: Master, take my bread, take my fishes, too.

Use them as you will,

Master, I love you!

Master, take my life; take the things I do.

Use them as you will,

Master, I love you.

JESUS: Put it in my hands, I’ll bless and break it here.

Put it in my hands, I’ll multiply your share.

With you in my hands we’ll feed a hungry world;

make a banquet rich and sweet

and fill them with God’s word!

Jesus thanked Philip for the bread and fishes and, taking them into his hands, bowed his head and asked God’s blessing on them. The children watched and laughed with delight as he began handing the food to the disciples. First, one fish, then two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight! More and more fish! And more and more bread! Soon, all the mothers and fathers as well as all the children had been fed as much as they could possibly hold, and Jesus told his disciples to pick up the leftovers. Twelve baskets full!

“That’s our friend!” laughed the children; and they all tried to hug him at once!

COME TO ME

11/14/2008 Posted by jlesliebooth

My child,

I have loved you with an awesome

and a mighty love.

Before the foundations of the earth

were laid,

before the singing suns

rose in the dawning of time,

I knew you.

My little child,

you are the most precious of my

possessions.

I love you beyond the height or depth

of your understanding.

My joy and my delight are in you,

and the wonder in your eyes

echoes the ceaseless, ever-renewing

surge of my creativity.

You were made for the Heavens;

to walk unshackled through eternity

and to walk by my side.

Come to me, your Creator,

your sustainer,

your Father.

Step into my kingdom.

Enter now the place I have prepared for you.

Embark upon that royal road

that begins in this life,

and continues beyond eternity!

My little one,

as I have loved you in this shadowed world,

as I have delighted in your presence,

laughed and wept with you,

so will I love you in that place

where shadows are swallowed up in joy!

And there I will gently draw the mist from your eyes,

the veil from your understanding,

and you will grasp in reality

what you now hold in faith.

Child,

here you have given me trust and love

and obedience.

There, I will surround you with my presence

and place in your hands

the Morning Star!
