He left this world behind
with all its lonely pain;
carried beyond on angel wings
borne to the throne of the King.
Vistas of worlds he’d never seen –
glory on glory filled his sight.
Opened to eyes newborn to wonder,
flooding his soul with light.
All his life he’d heard the words;
heard the City praised.
Now the shadowed veil was gone,
and reality met his gaze.
Clarion trumpets filled the skies;
choirs of angels sang.
The Halls of Heaven opened wide
to welcome him that day.
So do not grieve as those dear souls
whose hope is planet bound.
We’re only left for a little while
before our loved one’s found.
Rejoice with us as hearts unfurl
like the petals of a flower.
The fragrance of Heaven has touched us here
and we have felt its power.
