SALOME DANCED

06/22/2011 Posted by mindsinger

  1. ( Soloist) Salome danced.

And Herod’s lust became the Devil’s tool

the Baptist’s life to claim.

Salome danced.

Her mother’s foolish child

became a weapon shamelessly defiled.

Salome danced, Salome danced!

Salome danced,

while John the Baptist prayed

in Herod’s prison bound in Herod’s chains.

CHORUS:(Choir)

O Dancer, don’t you know

the Lord of life is watching you, loving you

even as you turn away?

O dancer, if you knew

the chains that bind you now are more real today

than Herod’s prison walls.!

  1. (Soloist) Salome looked

into King Herod’s eyes and won the right

to ask her heart’s desire.

Salome looked into her mother’s heart

and saw the Baptist slain and torn apart.

Salome danced, Salome danced!

Salome looked

into the staring eyes

that needed now no sight to see the halls of Paradise!

CHORUS: (Choir)

O Dancer, don’t you know

the Lord of life is watching you, loving you

even as you turn away?

O dancer, if you knew

the chains that bind you now are more real today

than Herod’s prison walls.!

ANGRY WITH GOD

05/02/2011 Posted by mindsinger

Have you ever been angry with God?  Have you ever gone so far from God you thought you could not return?  Have you ever felt ashamed to face him?  Afraid to see the reproach in his eyes, hear the judgment in his voice?  Some Christians are afraid of dying for just those reasons.  They think they’ve somehow done more bad things than good.  As though God were keeping score and they’d flunked the test.  What if that’s wrong?  What if someday you realized the Savior is just that – Savior?  Redeemer.  Advocate with the Father?  What if you knew he would never give up on you?  Would that change your view of life?  Of God?  Of heaven?
CALLING THE WANDERER HOME

Out of darkness – light.

From the depths of silence – a song.

Amid our dying – the gift of life.

From despair – the will to go on.

In the rubble of war a flower is growing.

the love of a mother is warm.

Through the canyons of steel

soft showers are blowing.

A light draws the wanderer home.

In the dust of our dreams

a small hope is growing,

the touch of God’s hand leads us on.

Through the deserts of pain

the Spirit is blowing,

and God draws the wanderer home.

In the midst of our laughter

a sorrow is growing.

We try to forget what we’ve known.

Our pleasures grow frantic

to shut out the crying

as God calls the wanderer home.

Bright lights and music

and wine for the asking,

and plenty of room left to roam.

And we almost can’t hear it,

that sweet Spirit calling,

drawing the wanderer home.

Down through the ages

the Spirit keeps calling

no matter how far man may go.

In the cries of our laughter

or desperate sorrow

a light calls the wanderer home.

If you think you’re beyond

the hope of His calling.

If your heart is too heavy for song.

Take my hand and I’ll help you

to hear it more clearly,

God calling the wanderer home

HE WALKS IN MAJESTY

04/23/2011 Posted by mindsinger

HE WALKS IN MAJESTY

(Lyric)

He walks in majesty,

the stars a robe for his shoulders.

He walks in majesty,

all space and time his home!

He walks in majesty,

above the highest heavens.

And yet he stoops to meet me when I call!

How can this be?

How can this be?

That mighty God

would care for one like me?

How shall I grasp

this mystery of mysteries?

That the Prince of Peace

should die for one like me?

His name is Wonderful,

the nations bow before him.

His name is Counselor.

He brings his people peace.

He is the mighty God.

The Father everlasting.

And in my heart he reigns

the Prince of Peace!
