COME TO ME

11/02/2011 Posted by mindsinger

My child,

I have loved you with an awesome

and a mighty love.

Before the foundations of the earth

were laid,

before the singing suns

rose in the dawning of time,

I knew you.

My little child,

you are the most precious of my

possessions.

I love you beyond the height or depth

of your understanding.

My joy and my delight are in you,

and the wonder in your eyes

echoes the ceaseless, ever-renewing

surge of my creativity.

You were made for the Heavens;

to walk unshackled through eternity

and to walk by my side.

Come to me, your Creator,

your sustainer,

your Father.

Step into my kingdom.

Enter now the place I have prepared for you.

Embark upon that royal road

that begins in this life,

and continues beyond eternity!

My little one,

as I have loved you in this shadowed world,

as I have delighted in your presence,

laughed and wept with you,

so will I love you in that place

where shadows are swallowed up in joy!

And there I will gently draw the mist from your eyes,

the veil from your understanding,

and you will grasp in reality

what you now hold in faith.

Child,

here you have given me trust and love

and obedience.

There, I will surround you with my presence

and place in your hands

the Morning Star!

MIND SONG

05/10/2011 Posted by mindsinger

My mind is singing

singing

singing

Joy and sorrow, laughter, tears.

Hoping

seeking

praying

singing

crying, loving through the years.

Mind song moving

living

giving

filling up the empty spaces;

Spinning out the common traces

people

places

words and faces.

.

Mind song calling, beckoning onward

from the past, the future bringing.

From the hand of sorrow taking

molding

shaping

ever making

songs of praise and gifts of love.

Mind song.  That’s what it is, you know.  To the poet, words are like music running through the mind.  No amount of instruction can put that music inside your head.  But you can learn to hear it.  You can accustom yourself to the lilt of the words until the music begins.
It is not mindless music.  Though it finds its counterpoint in the soft whisperings of the wind and the inarticulate sighings of the soul, it is not mindless.  For, in the poet, God brings together the gift of music and the gift of intellect, there combining the two in the soul satisfying gift of poetry.

Mind song.  A song that flickers from joy to sorrow; from wonder, to awe, to a restless searching.  Not in a tidy progression from darkness to light, but in a dance of life where sunshine and shadow lie intermingled until we move from light to light through shadows of defeat, despair, and sorrow.  Joy takes on a sweeter glow for knowing sorrow.   And always God is there . . . calling, beckoning onward.

HE WALKS IN MAJESTY

04/23/2011 Posted by mindsinger

HE WALKS IN MAJESTY

(Lyric)

He walks in majesty,

the stars a robe for his shoulders.

He walks in majesty,

all space and time his home!

He walks in majesty,

above the highest heavens.

And yet he stoops to meet me when I call!

How can this be?

How can this be?

That mighty God

would care for one like me?

How shall I grasp

this mystery of mysteries?

That the Prince of Peace

should die for one like me?

His name is Wonderful,

the nations bow before him.

His name is Counselor.

He brings his people peace.

He is the mighty God.

The Father everlasting.

And in my heart he reigns

the Prince of Peace!
